Devan was a thief, but he was very wise and  kind.He used to rob the rich people and give a large portion of what he stole to the sick and the needy.Due to this, he lived in the hearts of the people and they treated him like their king.This made the other thieves jealous of Devan.So, they held a meeting and made a plan to get rid of him.

According to the plan, they challenged Devan to steal the king's pyjamas.Devan was clever and had confidence in himself, so he accepted the challenge.So, he made a plan to execute the new challenge. Devan quietly sneaked into the king's palace and then to his  room.

There, he found the king sleeping.As he had planned, he opened a bottle filled withred ants on the bed of the king and simultaneously  dropped honey from a bottle on King's pyjamas.The ants quickly spread all over the king's pyjamas to lick the honey.Gradually, the ants entered the king's pyjamas and shirt. They started biting the king.

The king woke up crying with pain and looked around. He saw several ants crawling all over the bed and on his body.The king could not think of anything and he quickly removed his pyjamas and shirt. He ran towards his bathroom to take a quick shower to soothe the itching.

Devan was waiting for this opportunity.He quickly grabbed the King's pyjamas and escaped.Devan then went to the other thieves and showed them the king's pyjamas.They were dumb founded at Devan's quick action.All the thieves accepted their defeat and the fact Devan was wiser than them.

So, they appointed Devan as their leader.

Moral:  One who is wise can win any challenge.
