Kashish Dhanani was a ten year old boy, who lived in Gujarat. All the people in his family were in a blissful state because their house was filled with the laughter of a new born baby after so many years.

Kashish's family had a Dog (German shepherd) in the house, as their pet. The shepherd was very loyal and all the family members loved him.

Before the baby was born, Kashish and the Shepherd were the centre of attraction in the house. All the people in the house used to love and pamper them. Both of them, were the princes of the family.

But, when the baby came, the baby was pampered the most. Kashish understood the reason for this and loved his baby brother dearly, but the shepherd became quiet.

One day, everyone at home had to go somewhere urgently. Only Kashish, the baby and the Shepherd were in the house. Kashish was dozing off in his room as it was a sunny afternoon and the baby was also peacefully sleeping beside him. Suddenly, Kashish felt that something was moving slowly beside him. Thinking that it was his imagination, he did not pay much attention.

But when Kashish heard the baby crying, he quickly woke up. To his utter shock, the baby was not on the bed. Kashish got up worried and looked around. He was shocked to see that the Shepherd was holding the baby with his clothes, between his big teeth.

Kashish did not lose his temper, nor did he panic. He could sense that the shepherd was very angry. He tried to pamper him but this did not work. Kashish could feel that the shepherd was ready to tear the baby apart.

There was not a moment to lose.

Kashish tried to attract the shepherd by different toys and things, but this attempt also failed.

Then, Kashish remembered something and ran to the fridge. He quickly took out a loaf of meat from the fridge and kept it in front of the shepherd.

The shepherd looked at it for a while. Kashish sensed that his plan was working. He quickly went near the dog. Just then, the shepherd dropped the baby.

Kashish took hold of the baby at once.

The shepherd forgot all about the baby and began eating the meat. Kashish held the baby in his arms.  When the shepherd was satisfied, Kashish tied him with a string in the backyard.

When the family members came home, Kashish told them about the incident. They appreciated Kashish for his intelligence, courage and for saving his sibling's life. Kashish received National Bravery Award for his courage.

Moral: Courage and intelligent thinking is the key to overcome any danger.
